Scar repair can lessen or erase the appearance of unsightly scars on your face and body. This is performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the location, size, and depth of the scar. The scar is surgically removed, and the surrounding area is treated with dermal injections, dermabrasion, or laser skin resurfacing. Most of the discoloration fades within six to 24 months.
